Description

Faience, marked on the bottom with the emblem-lily, the manufacturer’s mark of Sceaux. The factory was especially known for its decorations in Japanese style. But also such original objects with optical illusion meet the taste of the 18th century. The high quality of the production and the naturalistic painting are just as good as comparable porcelain objects and witness the popularity of such show-dishes as part of festive table decorations. These two terrines were preserved as counterparts in private possession.

Length 18 cm.
