Birth of Christ (Ravensburg around 1450-1513 Constance) Kneeling Mary adoring the child, beside her angel choir. Hardwood, carved, flat back. 69 x 83 x 19 cm. - Attachments, figure of St. Joseph missing, washed off paint. - Formerly about 110 cm wide high relief, probably originally in the shrine of a small retable or the middle of a predella. Stylistically easily to be assigned to the work of Heinrich Iselin. Composition and structures are twin-like to the Merseburg altar. - A contemporary expert opinion by Dr. Albrecht Miller is available.
