Master Thomas Evans, 1816
On an oval stand decorated with a tongue frieze, the corpus has a smooth wall and profiled volute handles on the sides, the lid climbs up stairs and has a recess for the cutlery, the end is decorated with a leaf ornament and a turned, urn-shaped knob. On the wall an engraved, loop-crowned coat of arms of the client, the admiral and Royal Navy officer Sir Richard Spry (1715-1775), on the lid an emblem engraving with bird and motto from his coat of arms.
Silver, cast, chased and gilded, the walls and lids stamped with Lion passers-by, London review with year letter "a" for 1816 and master stamp "TE".
