Silver, chased, drawn, chased and engraved with coat of arms in front of ermine drapery.
The silver tureen was made in London in 1785 as a tapered shaft with a wide body and fluted raised lid, ring and vase finial over an oval stand. The two raised ribbon handles form a special eye-catcher next to the engraved coat of arms.
Hallmarked with a lion. MZ: Jas. Young, first mentioned in 1760.
