Four volute feet with stepped corpus, acanthus leaf decoration engraved all over, flower and rocaille appliqués on top, lid partly enamelled in dark green, set with garnets and natural pearls, inside naturalistic, coloured songbird with movable beak and wings over floral open worked plate, pull-out drawer with key. Metal, gold-plated. 15 x 11 x 9.5 cm. - Functional. After pulling the side slider, the lid opens, the colourfully feathered bird appears, turns and chirps a melody. It is opened from the underside when the drawer is open.
