Walnut, burr walnut and maple, engraved, partially colored and fire shaded.
On all sides outside, inside and on the lid, the casket is decorated with elaborate inlays. The depictions show lush flower and fruit arrangements. The lid is centrally decorated with a parrot. Unusually rich and elaborately engraved brass fittings have survived on all sides. The lock is decorated with a princely crown, the elaborate interior with many compartments and a hidden drawer in the bottom are in good original condition.
