Description

Attributed to René Dubois (master 1757, died 1799). Mahogany massive and veneered with original bronze fittings, the marble plate is framed by a broken brass gallery. In 1763, Dubois took over the renowned workshop of his father Jacques (died 1764). A nearly identical counterpart signed by René Dubois of the same collection has been published in our catalogue of 2019 (page 45).
