Description

Venice, circa 1720

The three-foot base with richly carved foliage rolled into volutes and rocailles on a partly hatched engraved base bears a fully carved young man standing on a baluster with a loincloth tied over his shoulder. On its head with curly hair, it carries the bell-shaped swinging out tray with circulating tongue frieze. Wood, carved and with original gilding and silvering of beautiful patina.
